Engineer IV

This Engineer IV will manage the Division of Power (DOP) Distribution Engineering Section. The position oversees the engineering of distribution power systems within DOP and will supervise lower-level Engineering and paraprofessional staff. 

Work performed by this group includes managing large capital projects utilizing consultants for substation, transmission, and distribution improvements. The group is also responsible for new power service customer development, upgrades, and outages. The group works closely with operations staff to resolve day to day technical issues and make medium to long-term maintenance plans. 

The group has field personnel to survey and inspect new and existing work. The group also manages the power monitoring software and coordinates communication and security improvements. This position requires strong leadership and interpersonal skills to coordinate between Engineering Design, Operations, Project Management, and scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications or Training: 

• Electrical engineering degree or experience in power substation and/or distribution design.
• Under general direction, is responsible for directing the activities of a major engineering section and/or performing highly-complex professional engineering work; performs related duties as required.
